MeRT Treatment Featured on “The Broken Brain” Podcast

The Broken Brain Podcast, featuring host Dhru Purohit, explores the inner workings of the brain and body. And MeRT treatment was featured on The Broken Brain Podcast as a breakthrough treatment for a variety of neurological issues.

In this episode, Dhru talks with Dr. Erik Won, President and Chief Medical Officer of Wave Neuroscience, about MeRT, and he shares some of the amazing results so far.

They discuss:

  • How MeRT could revolutionize brain-based medicine with its approach to mental health disorders…
  • The role of MeRT in improving sleep, and the role sleep plays in the brain’s detoxification system…
  • How MeRT can improve outcomes from PTSD and traumatic brain injury…
  • What takes place during a typical MeRT session…
  • Dr. Won’s personal experience with MeRT…
  • And much more.

Here’s a brief excerpt from the podcast:

“Functionally, what’s happening is we’re reminding the brain where it wants to be, where it’s most comfortable. It’s tapping into our natural biological mechanism.

“Mother nature engineered us as healing organisms, whether it’s putting two ends of a broken bone together, allowing it to heal, or two ends of a wound together. In this case, sometimes our brain will get stuck in a frequency that it’s not comfortable at. And for whatever reason, maybe we’re just giving it that friendly reminder to go back… and giving it that stimulation where it can move back.

“Over time, if we get EEGs every two weeks, we can start seeing these changes. And then the body does most of the work for you.

“So, we’re not trying to overpower the brain with high-power stimulus. It’s more of just a gentle reminder of where the brain needs to go, and then the body does a lot of the work for us.” – Dr. Eric Won

With other repercussions that can occur for both military and veterans, this is incredibly important. For example, suicide is at twice the rate for veterans, with approximately 17 veteran deaths per day. In a high-stress environment, such as serving in the military, the transition afterward can be complicated. And there are often underlying reasons for conditions that may occur. MeRT may help to address these issues.

Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and TBI don’t just affect veterans; if you are experiencing any symptoms as a result of any of these conditions, this podcast can be of help to you.
